Double Award win for RSHP in RIBA Regionals
Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners has won two RIBA Regional Awards.
Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport received an RIBA London Award at a ceremony at the Young Vic Theatre and Oxley Woods was announced as an RIBA South Award winner. All RIBA Award-winning buildings go on to be considered for RIBA National Awards, which will be presented at a ceremony on 27 June 2008. In addition all RIBA National Award winners will be eligible for a series of special awards to be presented at the RIBA Stirling Prize Dinner in Liverpool on 11 October 2008.
The buildings were judged in the first instance by shortlisting panels in each region, who visited schemes individually and met to produce a list of buildings to be then visited by the region's jury. Each regional jury was made up of a regional representative, a lay assessor from various disciplines and the jury chair, who is a nationally-renowned architect and chairs the shortlisting panel. Juries visited shortlisted projects, talked to clients and users and assessed design excellence irrespective of style, size or complexity. Each RIBA Award-winning project is presented with a special plaque.
