RRP Announces New Director
RRP is pleased to announce that Ian Birtles, Head of Finance, has been invited to join the Board of Directors.
Ian began his career by training with Bristow Burrell & Co, a Guildford and London based firm of Chartered Accountants. He then moved to the City, where he spent 10 years working for International Chartered Surveyors Gooch & Wagstaff.
In 1997 he was recruited as Head of Finance for Richard Rogers Partnership, and is responsible for reporting to the Board on all financial matters. He was made an Associate in 2001. His primary role was to strengthen the finance function within the practice, with a specific brief to introduce more timely and accurate management information and to introduce similar systems for the practice’s overseas offices in Tokyo, Madrid and Barcelona.
Ian works closely with the directors on the financial aspects of all RRP projects, and has been heavily involved with the evolution of the Practice’s BAA framework agreement for Terminal 5, Heathrow. He is also part of the management team for the Spanish joint venture that is delivering Barajas Airport in Madrid.
Ian supports and advises RRP students on the financial elements of the RIBA Part III qualification.
