The restaurant 'pod' for the Hesperia Hotel & Conference Centre in L'Hospitalet, Barcelona, has been successfully craned into position on the roof of this highrise structure.

The scheme comprises a five-star 304-room hotel, a 3,000 sq. metre conference centre accommodating 1,800 people, a 500-seat auditorium, a 1,500 sq. metre headquarters for the Hespería company and a 4,500 sq. metre sports club. A public square extends below the tower connecting it to the adjacent low-rise buildings.

Detail design work started in September 2000, with groundworks, basements and the tower now complete; construction is scheduled to complete in 2006.
